When installing an air conditioning
and cooling system, the following are important
factors;
When soldering, nitrogen must be trickled
through the Freon lines to avoid copper oxides.
The Freon lines must be sized properly
for the capacity of the a/c system.
All solders must be pressure tested with
nitrogen.
A vacuum must be pulled on the system to
at least 500 microns.
The air flow through the air ducts must
be enough to allow for complete evaporation of the
refrigerant.
The proper amount of refrigerant must be
introduced to the cooling system so peak efficiency will
be achieved.
Air conditioners are rated in SEER, which
is the efficiency level of the unit. The higher the
SEER, the more efficient the cooling unit.
Also if the system is being installed in
a large home, then zoning is a great option. Zoning
allows for more that one thermostat in your home. with
zoning you can have separate temperature control in
various areas of your home. This makes your home much
more comfortable as well as more efficient.
When installing a heating system
many factors must also be taken into account;
The furnace must be properly sized for
the home, the measure of heat output is in BTU,s, or
British Thermal Units. The larger the number, the higher
the heat output is for the heater.
The proper exhaust vent must also be
used, transite is asbestos and will not work with modern
day furnaces.
The temperature of the air entering the
heating unit and the temperature leaving the heating
must not exceed the rated temperature rise listed on the
furnace name plate.
The base of the heater base must be
sealed completely so carbon dioxide does not enter the
home.
